Dialog/War (as in "Dialog or War") is a protest against the insane and senseless wars humanity constantly fights. Not only is war not the answer, but aren't we as a species asking the wrong questions?
The quote in the middle is from his holiness the Dalai Llama.
lyrics
Dialog/War
--------------
Sometimes I cannot bear to walk down the street
Every face wants something from me
Support for the soldiers in a war so far away
Why are we killing our allies from another day?
Political reasons have very human consequence
Hate, fear, genocide, destruction of our monuments
I can't believe that in our modern intellect
We commit atrocity never stopping to reflect
What is this war? I have no memory.
This could be from anytime in history.
When your leaders do not practice tolerance
Abstinence from violence is civil disobedience.
We are the outcasts. We don't stand behind your cause.
Brothers, sisters dying. Does it matter who was wrong?
Faith, territory, thought - Details better left alone
So easy to forget when you're in the combat zone.
All we hear are fragments. We never get the whole truth
That would make it difficult to keep the people under rule.
Why support this protest? You've never had to care before.
Because they're all examples. Every one's an unjust war.
What is this war? I have no memory.
This could be from anytime in history.
When your leaders do not practice tolerance
Abstinence from violence is civil disobedience.
What is this war? I have no memory.
This could be from any place in history.
When your leaders do not practice tolerance
Abstinence from violence is civil disobedience.
